I’ve been an avid X1 fan since they came out. Unfortunately they discontinued the 4K display which is a must for me. Their reasoning is that the believe most road warriors have an external monitor to connect to wherever they go, but I believe the opposite is true. I rarely have a monitor in hotel rooms, etc. so, I like the high def display. Lenovo, please bring it back.

  4. Definitely considering it for a light business oriented laptop with enough specs to have excellent performance. The fact that it has a 14" screen is perfect to be portable in any bag. I had an HP 17.3" which was given to me by the previous company I worked for, and it was honestly a pain in the ass to haul it around, and also it couldn’t fit in most of the 5 laptop bags I have.

Only two USB-C ports in 2024?? And with one used for charging, that essentially leaves us with just one available port. That’s hardly sufficient. I wish Lenovo offered a ThinkPad configuration with at least 3 USB-C ports. USB-A ports have become nearly obsolete, though I wouldn’t mind having just one. And also a better compatibility with Linux systems.

  6. Thanks for the video! I recently managed to lose my macbook pro ;( so am now looking to replace it, torn between M3 pro, or one of these Lenovo machines. I have used a thinkpad before during my PhD so lots of programming etc was done on it. I just don’t want to regret not buying the macbook but also want to save, tough decision, please help?

  9. Lenovo laptops still suck in touchpad and screen and sound. Why can’t those guys get those things right even after 20 years. So frustrating. It could be a wonderful allrounder, but ends up being a corporate slave laptop. Just for gods sake add a large glass touchpad and a decent webcam that doesn’t look like a webcam from the 90s. And add god damn better screens and speakers. We business people also want to use it for entertainment.

How upgradeable is the ram and ssd? How loud do the fan get? Does it get hot when it runs intensive process for a long time? How long does the battery last on a full charge.

  32. I LOVE Lenovo specs and customisation purchase choices in the website. But why do their laptops seem so unaesthetic?! One does not spend 2k or more to find a laptop that reminds me of the 1990’s. Lenovo, move forward to the 21st century please.

  33. still using my X1C gen 6. one of the thuderbolt part dies, and the rubbery screen frame starts falling apart and gets sticky. still can get 4-5 hours for work. definitely the best keyboard my finger ever typed on a laptop.

  35. Never understood why this exists at all ? Not up gradeable, runs the outgoing lack luster windows software, too small form factor for business connectivity, does not come with Linux, too expensive for a retail buyer whom would want to use it ?

Buy the real deal …a P1 for business with linux.

  42. I cant count the number of Thinkpads I’ve had since my first computer in 1994. My last two were X-1s, a gen 2 and now I gen 7. But I need a new one now. I live in Canada and bought the past two in the States to save money, this one at Costco. But this Gen 12 is going to cost a fortune, especially with C$. Costco isn’t carrying the X1 now. Can anyone recommend the best place to get the best price in either country? In the US the tax for one thing is much lower

Always really have to check in 2024 what used PC helps keep fast surfing, restarting, still well-maintained battery.

I am in this forum not for a spa trip but would like to get useful and what is recommended for me and my choice to buy in 2024 and 2025 and which should still be available in a modern market today..

Is there still a T series Lenovo Thinkpad a powerful laptop (Intel i 5), with a good memory and normal SSD in 2024 and beyond? ☺😚🤫🤫🤫🤭🤭
