The MREGB type C port is not just for charging the power bank. It is a quick charging port. It quick charges my iPhone just fine. You need to check your specs before publishing a video.

  18. i got the 42.8wh model, yd-819. i plugged in a mostly charged nintendo switch into the new and fully charged battery i got, and left it over night, came back to the battery and it was flat dead, which told me the capacity was off by a lot.

i whipped out my capacity testors and see that its about 13wh, not even close to 42.8. the test was so bad that on the second and third tests i used different cables and watt testors.

i should have known they would try to scam us with these specs, but i didnt expect the bigger names to pull this crap too,

  19. For me personally a fast charging phone replaced the need for a power bank.
5 minutes plugged in is currently enough to recharge 50%

Of course I own a powerstation that was 99€ on clearance and has 299wh rated and delivers around 266wh at the kill a watt .
Sadly it takes 6 hours to recharge but given the price I can accept that.

Maybe time for test of powerstations.

    Especially cheap ones

Shame on anker for failing to meet its ratings. It’s a name brand that’s known for its potable charger reliability. They should be ashamed and embarrassed about this poor performance.

  24. The itty bitty solar panels on these banks won’t meaningfully charge them. It isn’t really what they’re for. Ideally the charge off the panel should negate the battery’s innate self discharge. So testing THAT would be a multi month affair.

  27. Could you do power stations next? Like the kind for camping and emergencies and the like? Jackery, Anker, etc… when I went camping I just used an extra lead-acid, but I don’t think those are meant for full charge/discharge cycles (it got the job done though).

  30. 4:21 you should try getting the voltage above the 4.8V mark. The max power will be lower but it will be more trustworthy as 5V USB charging is defined between 4.8V and 5.2V.
Anything more than 5.2V and anything less than 4.8V is out of spec. A load tester like that one isn’t that fussy about voltage, but 4.5V out of a charger is a bit too low for a phone. Just pointing out.

5:52 this again. 4.4V out of a charger is a big no-no, I wouldn’t really trust the 14.75W you got out of that.

I’ve had the anker slim for several years now and I love it. I travel constantly for work and found that a power bank is a must have for everyone. However no more than I actually use it I can’t justify getting the biggest and bulkiest charger even though that was my first instinct. All I’ve ever needed is something to charge my phone once to get me out of a temporary jam.

  40. Kudos for testing and ranking their true capacity. It’s sad and telling that the closest any of these units got to their rated capacity was less than 90%, and most were so far below that. 😢 This is why labeling laws are needed. I have zero tolerance for deceptive marketing.

It’s also disappointing that so many of them can not charge a USB C phone, which is the current defacto standard.

  46. i bought the dual pck Miady and they work great. Each of them will charge my iPhone 16 from 75%, because the new iPhones are hard to run dead, at least 4 times before it needs to be recharged. A completely dead iPad can be charged about 3 times. When the Miady’s are dead they can still hooked to the iPhone and plugged into the C port charging to take care of both. They work perfectly and are inexpensive.

Great video! Anker is the best on the market in my opinion and Project Farm just proved. I searched and found your video on power banks after I tried an off brand Power Bank 60,000 mAH. I ordered the Anker 737 after watching this video and it works as advertised.

Prior to the video I bought a Power Bank model 60,000 mAH last week on Amazon and it was a dud and I returned it 2 days later and here’s why. The PB 60 would not charge above 87% after 13+hours. Time to charge my laptop and it’s at 33%, I plugged it into the PB 60 with a charge was at 87% @ 1845L , 1902L laptop 28% the PB 60 is 86%, 1926L laptop 9% the PB 60 is 85%. My computer shut down before I could take another picture but the PB 60 was at 85% charge. If you want to drain your device buy the PB 60.
