I wonder if the sapphire could be too tough? The theory here is you want a screen protector to break with a bad fall to reduce the impact transferred to screen?…
anyways imo it’s the matte screen protector for the win. I didn’t like the reduced clarity at first but the first time in low light I absolutely love the softer look/ reduced eye strain, also just looks really cool.

I have a new Redmi Note 13 pro 5g with pre installed protector and I wonder if there’s a possibility that this protector can cause any color tone issues?
I’ve noticed when looking at white screen that the white tone changes a bit when I move the phone just a little bit in front of me. It’s just the white background that changes tone in this way, all other colors are accurate even when watching from different angles.
Can it be better if I remove this protector or is it just how OLED panels always behaves?
I don’t know if it’s a plastic or glass protector but it was pre installed.

Which screen protector would you choose?
10:40 Youtuber discovers the Mohs scale of hardness… Yeah, it’s leaving marks because the glass is wearing the pick. The harder material wears the softer material. Which is the point of hardness picks.

Oh and one piece of advice from my own experience. Don’t use your fingernail to pry up the edges to remove dust or bubbles. Fingernails easily leave debris stuck in the spot where prying. Maybe its my dirty fingernails that are most responsible lol. Just use a card or pick and don’t risk wasting a protector lol
Good review, but screen protectors are for noobs and geeks! Just traded an IPhone 11 Pro for a new phone, and never a screen protector, and absolutely flawless screen! It’s been carried in pockets for years. Waste of money, unless buying the cheapest ones, and based on their lackluster performance, why bother? Later
Great testing! I am thinking about trying out a matte screen protector. I have always used a normal glass one. I have a sapphire one I’ve been using for a long time. I’ve used probably ten or so now over the last few years and never had a problem with any of them on various phones. I did have one get damaged on its corner on my iPhone 14 pro max a couple of years ago. The protector didn’t shatter or crack. It just basically turned to glass dust on the corner. No cracks beyond the actual damage so I’ve stuck with them. I have no idea how it was damaged. It was in the work phone so no telling lol

Do you know how they hold up to being dropped though? Scratches are only half of my problem, dropping my phone is the other, lol!

And please don’t buy any screen protector that doesn’t come with a frame or installation cradle! They have ones at Walmart that are like $5.99 for iPhone 11 and up and most Galaxy models from last year and current. They come with a little cradle inside the tin can they are sold in. Easy peasey
