Im considering buying it to protect my laptop (3 month msi sword 17 hx). my temps are as follows: 76 flat on the desk, 73 on the cooler (on or off, doesn’t change anything ’cause it’s a tracer wing), and 80-85 sometimes in games. Should I go for the purchase or not? (the first two temps are with aida64 stress test run for 90 seconds)

dang this video was dropped on my birthday and i’m just watching it now as i almost fry my new Predator laptop on a tropical country at 30 celsius outside

  3. Foam pad WILL DEGRADE over time and tiny pieces of crumbling foam will be pushed by air flow inside your laptop. I have seen it many times in mainframe computers. Wrong engineering and poor understanding of material science. But yes, it works great when new.

  4. I am using a 320 $ one. It has air filter slot and 6k RPM speed without RGB. It is a 3 step adjustable pad which gives very pleasant experience while gaming or doing Trading.

  5. i got a V10 (with no rgb) after seeing this video because I wanted the smaller footprint on my desk and it works perfectly for when I play CS2. I just wish there was a way to buy replacement filters.

I listened, I bought it- works great but (who would’ve expected?…) it’s very loud and I dislike noises that pierce though headphones. Yes it can just run on 400 rps but play any challenging game and either gotta put it on 1000 rps or suffer 70*C on your CPU

very pro review.i like your comprehension of protecting an investment.i just got this cooler today.i have an Alienware M18 R1,4080. some punk at intel thought it was a good idea to put a desktop CPU into a laptop heheheh. well, they did. have you heard your FAN going JET while watching fakin YOUTUBE??? and while i love my Alienware, you are absolutely right. i wanna play games ACTUALLY using that 4080. i dont wanna be in the QUIET profile all the time (even though it still rocks performance-wise). i will connect this cooler, and go to PERFORMANCE preset. we all know those laptop GPUs are just a shadow of their desktop ORIGINS, but with this cooler i HOPE i will get a step closer to that. thanx for your work, great analysis, great review.

  19. Yep, that’s it, I’m sold. I’m buying one before I go on vacation or traveling for work again. Last year I bought an Alienware from my friend, and while it IS a great laptop, boy that mf gets HOT. Like, roasting the palm of my hand, hot. It doesn’t throttle much, if at all, and doesn’t lag, surprisingl. It’s very clean inside and out, and was well cared for, but I may try to tackle re-pasting it soon, since the original paste is probably cooked. I bought a cheap cooler from Best Buy ’cause it was the only place I could get one right away, and to be honest it doesn’t do much. I’m REALLY looking forward to buying one of these coolers and trying it out.

  20. A little late to this video but these pads absolutely work. My laptop went from running at about 90C to 40C when running cyberpunk at high settings. It’s good for the laptop and has the added benefit of not feeling like I’m holding a space heater on my lap

  21. Bought one of these under your recommendation. I have a laptop that’s about 2 1/2 years old and it’s looking like it needs to be repasted. I run Razer cortex and I’m seeing my temperatures drop anywhere between 15 to 20°C across-the-board.

I recently bought a Lenovo legion gaming laptop which is 16" inch. I would love to have one of these cooler fans to keep my laptop sustained for a long period of time. Thanks for the video but this is slightly over my budget right now. Might end up buying in the near future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks boss! Hope Llano reaches me out hahaha😅

  36. Do you guys recommend cutting a bit of foam to create an exhaust for excess heat? I noticed it forced the heat a bit too much into the bottom of my screen with the razer blade on it, I guess it really depends on the laptop.

    Hey Andy,

would to see you doing a video with the same laptop but repasted, with a lot of additional ventilation holes drilled into chassis plus the Cooling.

Years ago, I have found a video with one Apple Laptop, the guy did drill a few holes into the chassis and the Laptop never overheated after that.

Nobody has ever again modified a MacBook this way since then, I think he did the video 10-10years ago.

    Cheers from Germany

Ty so much for sharing this!
Been struggling with my Asus rog strix g18 cpu temps. Been trying everything I could think of and have tried several other cooling pads(most of which didn’t fit the 18inch) but none have worked so far.
Hoping I can find one in stock around my area!
Fr ty again for suggesting this!

  44. Those look great. I saw what looked like a foam filter under the bottom and if the air was filtered or not was a concern.
I’d hate to see people grab one of these & because their laptop was dirty & plugged up it still roasted & they get pissed at the company & The Greatest Technician That’s Ever Lived. That would suck worse than a hooker with a chipped front tooth! 😎
