Hidden Feature in Anker Power Bank
By accident, I found a hidden feature in my Anker 533 power bank. It is made specifically for charging low-power devices.

It’s in the starting guide…
If only it was clearly advertised and explained. Could be a good selling point. It’s a power bank. Who would think they need instructions for it?
I don’t see how this is hidden since it’s in the 3 page manual😂
RTFM
This option also have in redmi and mi power banks. When u double press the button, it activate
They have it in most all their new power banks.
Xiaomi had this for years, the earliest I remember at least is 2016
These You Tube twats need to try reading the manual….it’s called trickle charge….it’s on all Anker chargers and is very clearly explained if you actually read the manual 😂
FFs everyone knows this when they buy it
Same in mi power bank also
I wish most powerbanks has that feature. I want to use powerbanks to power Arduinos and my ancient Alter uCs
The hidden feature is that it secretly send unencrypted data about your charging habits and device data to Anker servers
This feature is great for Arduino projects!
Anker really should print instructions on the power bank so it’s not hidden in an instruction booklet that won’t be carried around with it. I don’t know why the trend of unlabelled buttons and status lights is so popular, especially in a world where tap, double-tap, triple-tap, tap-and-hold mean vastly different things even amongst products from the same manufacturer.
Unlabelled charging status lights also tend toward confusion. I have three different power tool battery chargers and one shows a green light when charging which turns red when full, another shows a red light while charging that flashes green when full, another has a constant green light that flashes red when full. Completely unintuitive. None have instructions written on them so I needed to print my own labels to stick to them so I know when that batteries are charged. It’s stupid.
People who do not have access to the instruction manual will not go out of their way to download a PDF manual and read it cover-to-cover on the slight off-chance that there’s a hidden feature they’re unaware of that might come in handy for the 15 minute trip where they just want to quickly recharge their earbuds from their friend’s power bank.
I’ve noticed this over the years.
Irritating.
I love that everyone agrees that it’s not a hidden feature and he’s just really dumb 😂
Not a hidden feature, just a feature
I dont care about any rtfm screaming, but why are you measuring the voltage when talking about current cutoff properties?
Maybe the power bank doesnt cut off at all when using a charging protocol with higher voltage, but it definitely does not cut off if enough current is drawn, even with 5V. So the reading is a bit confusing, it would have been more interesting to show the cutoff with the current and maybe a potentiometer, so the cutoff current is even visible
It’s in the Anker Zollo power bank as well
trickle charge is useful for fast-charging devices as well. As the device won’t get as hot when charging, it’s useful to charge over a longer period of time.
Unbelievable 😂
yeah, specially if you don’t read manuals 😂😂
This is called trickle charging and Anker is giving this for a very long time period. All my Anker power banks has this feature.
Best feature of a lot of Anker power banks
Okay, but why does it turn off at all in the first place?
Today I learned worlds hidden function, of you sleep before 12 am you will wake up on the next day. 😮
It works with the anker zolo!
how is it hidden. Clearly states it in the instructions
Says on ankers website.
Does it damage the small devices if not put in low charging mode?
Available in Mi Powerbanks from 2019. It’s a feature not hidden feature😐
Definitely not a hidden feature, it even comes with a light
Hit me as a Dislike Button
Even my road side power bank have this feature 🎉
Thank you !! I have a different kind and it works 737 that will be great for charging my Apple Watch !!! Cuz it would not charge it
I used this feature from 2020 in my 20$ mi powerbank 2c 😂
And now it’s a hidden feature 🤣
Its not hidden at all 😅
Literally been on their stuff for YEARS. You just don’t read
That’s actually a flash for the hidden camera on the power bank which sends your nudes to the power bank head corp. It’s for data analysis for future power releases.
Than you so much.
Wow that’s actually amazing, thanks!!
I actually bought my anker powerbank because of these feature. I avoid fast charging my phone as much as possible, so this feature is perfect.
The same feature is also present on my ugreen powerbank. Also good if you don’t need fast charging but the thing here is that the power bank will not auto power off when the devices are done charging
🗑️
why does it not detect the load and decide which mode to operate but require human to select instead ? What a dumb charger with "hidden" useless feature to pretend to be smart 😅
That perfect for esp32 projects!
Thats cool
Same thing in my MI power bank
Do they have this in 737 model?
powerbanks should do that automatically
