  2. “Line shape diffuser”. What a impressive marketing approach. I honestly don’t understand how people find these speakers sounding good… It is what made the speaker to have the poorest frequency response / audio quality ever on a portable Bluetooth speaker in the same price range.

The bass frequency response is just poor, while all other brands are going for a peak around 60Hz on a speaker this size, this poor thing peaks at around 160, making it sound like a cardboard box. On the mid range, the frequency curve is peaking too much at around 200 Hz, making the mids and bass all crumpled together thus making all songs sound muddy and muffled.

On the other hand, the high frequency response is just completely a mess caused by that “line shape diffuser” covering up the speakers, creating a room for the sound to bounce around multiple times to completely destroy the audio clarity and the volume, making the sound even more muffled.

Aside from the sound quality, its functionality has dramatically decreased. They no longer have any light on them, they don’t have the live sound mode anymore, and their battery life is much lower than advertised. They’ve removed all the ports on the back, making it a Bluetooth only speaker. The smaller XE200 isn’t even a small speaker at all, and it doesn’t have any straps for you to tie it onto a back pack or to warp onto your arms to secure the hold.

I can end the comment with this speaker here: Ultra high distortion, poor bass performance, lacks functionality.

The only ones who would appreciate this speaker lineup are probably just those SONY fans, and those who know nothing about audio at all that got mislead by a SONY fan friend.

(Honestly the XE lineup is so bad that it almost feel like a scam.)

  7. Stop with this line diffuser crap, I regret buying the xe200. It sounds so muffled, should’ve paid 30 dollars more and got the Jbl charge 5 instead 🙁
