Using the Samsung Smart TV Remote

Using the Samsung Smart TV Remote

Introduced in 2022 the 14 button solar powered remote is now standard on most Samsung Smart TVs. While some balk at the absence of a keypad and dedicated controls for many functions, the new remote could be better or did Samsung make a mistake. Join us as we explore the Samsung SolarCell remote buttons and show you how it works with the Samsung S90C.

Do you have a video that shows how to connect a dvd player to this tv? I have the hdmi converter but since there is no input button I can’t figure out how to source it to detect it’s connection. So frustrating.

Thank you so much for this video!
I had a stroke 9 years ago and my mind is not what it used to be. My TV was starting to go and my friend picked a Samsung QLED 60D in a 32 inch size. But I have no idea how to use it. It’s just so complicated for me and I hope your video will help me figure it out, thanks again for helping!

Only an total idiot would say that less buttons on your remote is better. How about changing channels with this remote you have to press the 123 button twice then go to one number select it then go to next number select it then enter, that’s six button presses to enter a two digit channel. Real smart remote!

  8. This remote is a total nightmare. Bring back a remote with direct controls. 1 press to mute, 1 press for subtitles, 1 press to record. Panasonic had the best remotes and user interface. It was easy and fast.

One of the most used buttons, the Last or Prev channel button is gone. That really sucks. There are no number buttons obviuosly so beside scrolling up or down through lots of channels taking time, you can try voice control but it only works half the time for me and it is all frustrating. And Im a tech guy. I would love to see a vid on how to pair a specific other Samsung remote that will work with this. But this was a great educational vid

  16. Can you show or explain what to do if, say, you know what channel you want to watch. How do you get to it without going to guide or up/down channel buttons? Is there a way to just go to that? My old remote allows me to just punch in 212 for NFL Network or 3 for WCIA CBS or 501 for HBO, etc. Thanks!

  50. I really thank you for this wonderful video – it was very detailed easy to understand and helpful. However, this remote is trash. Maybe I am crazy (yes I know I am), but I DO need all the fancy buttons. The more the better. I am not one who loves the embedded and difficult to smash buttons of this type of remote. I do not like my old roku and fire remotes either. I like the old DirecTV remote (actually the one from before Genie, but at least the Genie is mostly the same – the new Gemini one I have, along with the new Gemini system, is the worst thing ever created). I have terrible arthritis and buttons are a hardship when you really have to press hard or even if they are so sensitive that they do what they want regardless of what you press. LOL I like having the numbers, the FF/REW/REC/STOP etc (I have a dvr). I like to just have all the options. I am weird that way. These new fangled remotes make me an old lady and I really am not. I am pretty technologically savvy, so this makes me sad. At least you were kind enough to show the lil ins and outs and subtleties of the remote. I appreciate it. Sorry for the booklong response. Happy New Year!
