for school, id recommend the lenovo ideapad slim 3, in my opinion the best model is 15AMN8. it has a ryzen 5 7520U that is designed for battery life rather gaming, a gpu but gpus arent important. but if your an absolute nerd it can go up to 2gb of video random access memory. for storage, it has a nvme pcie gen 3.0 x2 ssd, which i think is ok and has 512gb capacity. the memory is 16gb, ideal for doing work and multitasking such as downloading stuff while doing work. can have a whole 10 hours of battery life on balanced mode. best performance – 6 hours, best battery life – 14 hours or so. features a 60hz 15”6 inch screen with 1080p, ideal for work. a good keyboard, touchpad, 3 usb ports, 1 hdmi port and has a integrated camera that can be “physically” shut down by moving the part at the top. also has a built in microphone. only the wifi, ssd can be upgraded, not even ram. but 16gb is really good, isnt it?

If you don’t have a budget, and you want a laptop good for engineering/computer studies but also a good general laptop get the Lenovo yoga pro 9. Expensive but has good battery life, very powerful with ai capabilities, can play AAA games and is lightweight.

Lies a shadow cast by endless light.
The hum of gadgets, the siren’s song,
    Whispers that we must belong.

Yet hours fade, and days are lost,
The quiet world’s the hidden cost.
The breeze untapped, the stars unseen,
    Replaced by pixels’ fleeting sheen.

The laughter shared, the touch of hand,
The trails unwalked, the open land—
All traded for a scrolling stream,
A fleeting life, a fractured dream.

    Beware, beware the siren’s call,
Its tethered web, its creeping thrall.
For in its grasp, we may forget
The beauty that is with us yet.

Step back, reclaim the timeless air,
Let whispers of the wild repair.
    Unplug, uncoil, and look anew,
The world is wide, and waits for you.

Peep a MacBook Pro from 2012. They’re serviceable, are cheap AND sleek and come with 13 inches or more of screen size. There are also patches to upgrade to the latest macOS.

Gohar is the Microsoft Surface compatible with most college engineering software? Because I have heard that ARM based processors don’t do well with engineering applications.

  25. Since i broke my leg a month ago, ive been homeschooled. I can’t weight my leg for 6 months, so i cant go to school. I have a Dell Latitude 5490 with 500GB of SSD storage, that i bought with my own money, for my 11th birthday. It’s honestly so good, it’s used but has never lagged once. I love it so much. I also have a printer in my house that i have connected to my laptop. It’s a Ricoh SP 211 DDST. Its honestly so good. I borrowed the printer from my dad because he doesn’t use it anymore, since he bought a Canon printer for himself. I love the printer and my laptop so much. Glad to have them both. ❤😊

My rules to choose a laptop:

    1. No chromebook. It sucks.
    2. No celeron/athlon cpu. I3/R3 at least
    3. 8+ gb ram, ssd 512 at minimum (no emmc)
    4. Gaming laptops has small battery time(if you play on lectures) and bulky (if you bought bulky), do i prefer gaming laptop.

  40. gohars i dont go to college in fact im still in school and in my country colege isnt a thing insted its university but gaming laptops have large screens up to 16inch and some of the good budget ones have 500gb of storage 16 gb of ddr4 ram then if you do some configerations in the inbuilt config software you can make it last up to 15 hours of work time and they charge to 40% in like 40mins so gaming laptops are a good choice if you know what to do with it

    2. Do NOT buy that ideapad, build quality is terrible and the hinge will break within a year (ive owned that same model)
    3. I’d highly suggest 16GB RAM
