  4. ARM laptops are a complete flop. It’s a thing for geeks but no corporation are buying into these. MS tried 10 years ago to get Windows on ARM done (W8 RT) and it was a flop. If Intel bumps up battery life with Lunar Lake, Qualcomm powered laptops with soon end up in museums or get used as paperweights. Only 80% of the apps are working on top so it’s really a flop so far. Less than 1% of total sales…and they’re not even cheap !!!

  5. I got the M3 MBP, but next year, I’ll invest on a Qualcomm V2 laptop. There’s still a need for Windows and hopefully the particular app I need will port over.

My issue with Windows is the ‘recall’ feature. That just pushed me back to apple.

Apple owns the hardware which made the ecosystem transition to ARM startling fast. Now Intel macs are lagging in support. Much more heterogenous for Windows. I have much less confidence in the software world catching up because there isn’t the same incentive.

  20. big difference between apple and windows on ARM is that apple got rid of all x86 based macs, both mac desktops and macbook laptops cuz it was easy being that they never made gaming computers at all

but with windows, there gaming laptops that need compatibilty with Nvidia or AMD dedicated gpus and those would still dragistically drain laptop batteires and they need full compatibility with steam and the games from there which are made for normal windows first so they work on desktops too

but then also desktops in general, work or gaming desktops dont need to care about the power drain of x86 vs ARM but they still do need to be able to worth for desktop Nvidia and AMD gpus and those need to remain replaceable or upgradable by users and it seems like the future of ARM is more about non removable ram, gpus and ssds

so really looks like windows on ARM is really only a future for non gaming laptops and not for desktops at all, which means manufacturing and support for x86 apps and hardware will have to stick around no matter what ARM does

Microsoft just kill products and waste your money when they feel like it. They straight out stop supporting and you are left with bricks.

  33. This is not the right laptop to compare with Macs. A Core I9 ZenBook with NPU can be bought with 1TB and 32 GB Ram can be bought for £945 UK/ $1,186.21with oled. You would pay at least twice this amount for a Mac. I have one – it’s really solid and the battery ios fantastic too

I’m surprised nobody talks about WiFi performance. The surface laptop WiFi 6 performance is fantastic. I do happen to have the same laptop in this review and also a new fully loaded M4 Mac mini. The surface laptop blew the mini out of the water with almost twice as fast wifi6 connectivity. Same network and location and I got close to 1.5 gbps speeds compared to only 700 on the Mac. Check it out for yourself if you have a fast WiFi6 connection.

Nice review ,Regarding to the compatibly as a graphic design I can see now its works 100% with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator ,Adobe Indesign and adobe premiere pro but its still not compatible with adobe after effects !
Any way I think and hope that in the near future, I will see a Snapdragon processor with a secondary NVIDIA graphics card, for example.
I am very excited to see new generations of this processor.

for sure with the ability to increase the ram .
