I love how Phil Spencer and Xbox has realize that the console war is pointless, gracefully bowed out, and are now blazing their own path forward in the face of naysayers. Xbox has had their missteps, and Phil has admitted to times where he’s dropped the ball, but this new path is not just pro-consumer… its pro-gamer and pro-gaming. It’s Xbox meeting the gamer where they are which is what gaming is about but also remaining committed to its core user base who supports it by wnsurijg that the industry will no longer ignore Xbox, as they literally cannot by making Windows the gaming platform.
The emphasis on making sure Xbox gamers can access not just all of thwir games of the past but games today as well, takes me way back to one of Phil’s earliest statements: "A game is a game is a game." In propwe context he was talking about how games of all sizes are valuable and valid, not just AAA and its this mindset that’s lead to the diverse lineup of games and experiences that Xbox has been releasing.
But here, i think we can connext that phrase to Xbox’s goal because games are just games, and it shouldn’t matter where you play them or how be it on console or on TV or on Firestick or on PC.

This generation of consoles kind of flopped. If they can get windows on Xbox and allow steams full library available, it’s gonna push Sony soooo far back
If steam is integrated with xbox does that mean you will still need geforce now for it to work?
The problem with a supposedly Windows based Xbox is that the reason a lot of gamers got xbox in the first place is because it just works because its not Windows so it doesn’t have al the bloat and instability.
That is also why a lot of pc gamers are leaving Windows for Linux and Steam to get away from Windows…🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I just want to own my games I bought on Xbox before switching to pc. I refuse to pay for games i I own already on one platform to another. Secondly can we have our accounts we’ve worked hard for. I’ve played eso on console since release, switched to pc and can’t have all my gold max level characters. Like damn. You think I’m about to start over pfft please

Coming from a It background myself. Using a multiple of different computers over the years. The PC have been my main source 4 years. But when the pandemic happened I happened to get an Xbox series x.
I can see some problems. Compatibility could be a key issue with Waze OS is formatted 4 Xbox compare to the of the PCs NTFS. surfer user wanted to use their old games on the new system it wouldn’t work because of the different formatting.
Side effects boxes going down this route of PC system. Is there any point in buying an Xbox and just buying a PC instead?
As as at the end of the day it’s only operating system layered on top of the Pre-existing hardware.
So what is there that you could use any high-end PC and just put an Xbox store front on top of that? I’m sure someone will work this out and do that .
