About 6 or 7 years ago, my wife and strolled into a Best Buy and settled on a Hisense, which we had never heard of, but the picture looked so good in the store, and we couldn’t beat the price. We never grew tired of how beautiful the picture looked!

Fast forward to today. We bought a Sony Bravia because it’s supposed to be the best. We have never been more disappointed (not to mention the intermittent glitch of not wanting to turn on!). Compared to the Hisense , it’s MEH. I’ll never buy a SONY again.

I live in Europe. For me it’s always been a choice between Panasonic and Sony. Although I’ve always prefered Panasonic in the past, the fact that they don’t invest that much in mid-tier TVs anymore made me buy my first Sony TV which I have been quite happy with.

Vizio is own by Walmart? 😮😢 No wonder they fell behind Walmart is a cheap store

  25. JVC in UK is owned by Currys (Its a high street electronics retailer) but sets are made in Turkey by Vestal who make a variety of cheap sets branded with Hitachi, Alba, Polaroid and bush. Spares are virtually impossible to get hold off and quality is pretty poor.

I forgot about Toshiba! I bought a Toshiba tube TV with (almost) flat glass in the way-back-when. It had AMAZING picture (well, for 720p 😂). It made all of my VHS and DVD movies look great. Sad that they fell out of the market.

Not quite what you asked, but I am in the market for a gaming TV. For the speed and image contrast, the leader seems to be Samsung. With contrast nearly as good as OLED, the miniLED can run up to 240 hZ. Any feedback?

Hisense and TCL qualitywise are not really reliable and the gblishh on them is a real thing . If you want a high quality value tv def go for samsung ,LG or Sony even tho they are more expensive .

Wow, my 16 yr. old Toshiba HD LCD flat screen is still going, but just lately, I noticed a thin light black line going across bottom of screen about 2/3rds of the way. I’m looking into buying a new one, but even after watching this video & reading comments, I’m not so sure.

I found an old Sears color TV next to a dumpster in Alaska. With help from a friend, we took the tubes by a tube tester at Radio Shack and wound up watching lots of TV off an old box that was stained with water damage. It would take about five minutes to warm up, but the color was nice. I donated it to a rec room when I left the state and don’t know how long it lasted, but we think we gave it another ten years of life with window cleaner and a handful of new Sylvania tubes.

I current have a 65 inch LG c series and its one of my favorite tvs that I have owned. The colors are absolutely beautiful. I need another tv for my office but I don’t want to spend the same kind of money. Does anyone have suggestions for a TV that closely compares to the LG C series but a little cheaper? Thanks in advance!
